The Secret History of ISIS

FRONTLINE: A documentary tracing the growth of the Islamic State against the backdrop of repeated warnings of the threat by senior global policymakers. The story recalls the Bush Administration's invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and the growth of the insurgency during the Iraqi occupation, following which the American government arguably contributed to the growth of the terrorist group. The film asks why the American government did not recognise what later became a deadly challenge to global security.
