About the Show
Bog bodies are one of Europe’s strangest ancient phenomena. Most are between 2-3,000 years old - dating from the Iron Age. They are overwhelmingly male and almost all show signs of shockingly violent death: nipples cut, abdomens sliced open, skulls broken, throats sliced and stabs to the heart. Over a thousand bog bodies have been discovered across Northern Europe – but only a few dozen are complete.
