The Children's Odyssey

About the Show

When Germany declared war on Poland in September 1939, more than 300,000 Jews fled eastward, among them thousands of children. So began a four-year odyssey in which these children, aged from two to 15, went from Poland to Persia, though only about 1,000 reached their intended destination of Tehran. Then they struggled on by ship and rail to Palestine, the Promised Land. This film shows again how, in times of war and persecution, children have so often overcome appalling hardships and overwhelming challenges.
