About the Show
On 25 October 1854, more than 664 light cavalry charged heavy Russian guns head on as part of the fight for Sebastopol in the Crimean War. In the midst of an amateurish and hideously mismanaged campaign, it became an emblem of disaster. 110 cavalry were killed, 130 wounded and 58 men were captured. The guns were not taken. Blending state of the art graphics with dramatic reconstruction and fresh interpretation of the facts, this documentary sheds new light on the military reasons behind the orders and examines the four main characters responsible for the infamous charge.
