About the Show
The luxurious Hampton Court palace sits on the banks of the river, just a short train ride from London. The large palace was home to Henry VIII's court in the 16th century, and holds the many secrets and scandals of his reign. The palace embodies Henry's lavish and indulgent lifestyle, but also bears the mark of the royals who inhabited it after him; King William III and Queen Mary II demolished half of the palace in order to rebuild it into a Baroque castle intended to rival Versailles. The resulting combination of styles makes Hampton Court one of the most unique palaces in the world.
