About the Show
A documentary exploring the fate of thousands of soldiers who were captured during the 20th century's most bitter wars. Up to 30,000 British and 12,000 American troops were displaced to unknown destinations during World War II and the Korean War, and a further 900 US soldiers were seen alive by several witnesses after the end of the Vietnam War before they disappeared without a trace. Also, hundreds of thousands of European survivors of the Nazi camps, mainly Dutch, Belgian and French combatants, vanished in the Soviet Union after World War II. Yet to this day the fate of the victims is one of the darkest chapters of the Cold War.
